Teaching with Toys
We are constantly thinking of how we can help our children to discover the world for themselves. With our pond yachts, spark your children imagination and help them to discover a range of different topics; from deciding the best materials to make a boat from; to understanding how a sailing boat moves; or imagining where you would go if you built your own sailing boat; toys can act as a hook to engage your children.
What do we teach?
Our sessions are created to allow children to physically ‘play’ with something that facilitates learning. The little boats can be a tool, can open discussions or allow imaginations to thrive. We have an ever expanding program that links to national curriculum areas so that you can bring learning to life. We specialise in S.T.E.A.M and encourage teachers and parents to either choose from our sessions bank, or think of new ways to use our boats to generate learning experiences.
How does it work?
If you are a school or home educator and would like to visit the pond and use the pond yachts as a teaching tool, please enter your enquiry to our reservation form, or email claphammodelyachtclub@gmail.com to register your interest. From there we can then invite you to our dropbox full of sessions for you to choose from.
